G&L S-500
This is my beautiful 2003 G&L S-500. Although I have been a bass player for over 30 years, I just recently decided to learn how to play the 6 string. I purchased this guitar to learn on. The S-500 is a fabulous guitar. It is hand made in Fullerton, California by Leo Fender's last and most technically innovative company, G&L.
This S-500 has an ash body painted in G&L's spectacular Clear Blue color ringed with a natural wood body binding. The neck is birdseye maple with a birdseye maple fretboard topped off with a graphite nut. In addition, this guitar sports locking schaller tuners and a white pearl pickguard.
The best features of the S-500 are some of the innovations Leo Fender brought to G&L. Most importantly, the S-500 has Leo's
Magnetic Field Design pick ups. They are extraordinary. Note bending can be accomplished with Leo's silky smooth Dual Fulcrum
Vibrato. Another improvement over Leo's previous designs on the S-500 is the bi-cut neck. The S-500 is a Super Stratocaster
and one of the finest guitars Leo Fender ever built.
